Montreal last weekend was totally fabulous!!!!!
We headed up Saturday evening and just enjoyed a quiet evening in with our little Daney-kins.
Sunday, Dana had to work, so Laura and I slept in and then headed up St Laurent street to get us some lunch. We ended up in this nice restaurant where we enjoyed some crepes and a pitcher of sangria....the crepes were an excellent idea. The sangria, although it was excellent, resulted in us being drunk at 3 in the afternoon x_x Dana came and escorted us home, where we napped until it was time to grab some dinner and then head to the MSI show. The concert was absolutely amazing, it was awesome to see MSI play in such a huge venue. I was so used to seeing them play in little shit boxes like Babylon compared to Spectrum. After the show we headed to some tiny little basement bar to watch a couple other bands play. One was Daquiri who I'd seen before somewhere and previously didn't like their music, but for soem reason enjoyed it that evening. The other was Super 8 Bit Brothes, a TubRing side project, and they totally kicked ass, every song had some allusion to a video game or something along those lines. Anyways, the exciting part, Laura being the hottie she is, got us invited to the bands' after party !!!!!!!! That was too cool. We left the party and all Dana could say was "Rob Kleiner knows my name". Monday we slept as late as we could, but it became difficult with the sun being so high in the sky. We had lunch in this tiny little cafe and then headed home.
And yet another excellent Montreal weekend was had!

Life is glorious. Summer is blissful. Work is tedious, but keeps me occupied.
Decided to not return to Carleton come fall. I plan on going to Algonquin instead. Not sure what I will take, its a throw up between Bartending, which is simply because I don't know what to do, so bartend in the meantime. Theatre, which I love and have a passion for, but the little voice in my brain tells me that it isn't a serious choice. OR Hotel and Restaurant Management, which is a field I am interested in. Decisions to make, follow my heart, do what is practical, or kill another year.....,
Other than that, life is filled with lots of social evenings, bar hoping through the market, enjoying the different scenes and fancy drinks. Oh and heading to 80's night this Sunday, good bless the 80's! Oh and next weekend I'm headng to Montreal for the Mindless Self Indulgence show....whoot! Life is great!
that was my attempt at an interesting post.....final grade D+ |

Oh man, since summer has started i have been having the time of my life. I knew that school was making me miserable, but I had no idea to what extent. Now that summer is here though, Im living the good life. There has been Montreal weekends, gone out dancing a couple times, went to a mini pathetic excuse for a rave and had an amazing time. I've been spending time with my friends who went away for school and are now home, and speding more time with my friends who never left me! I've also partied it up with a lot of new people and made myslef some new friends, im honestly just having the time of my life right now. And I also feel like when September rolls around I will actually be ready to go back to school, but until then, I'm gonna continue to live the good life.
Let the days of lounging in the warmth of the summer sun never end >_<
Oh yea and I have a job interview today at The Bay, hopefully it will be mine and I can quit The Superstore!!! |

"What’s great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you know that the President drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke, too. A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good. Liz Taylor knows it, the President knows it, the bum knows it, and you know it."

| | Cross Boreders-Shakalabbits | ] | So yesterday i found out that this year not one person is taking place in Gloucester High School's annual exchange to Nagoya Japan. Having participated in the excahnge and therefore being part of an almost 20 year tradition, I was truly saddened to see such an experience die. Of course there are many reasons why people are not going, money is an obvious factor, another could be simply interest since the double co-hort thing. Japanese is honestly three useless credits that could be used to take things like sciences and maths o_0. Anyways so all those little Showa high school girls who came to Canada this summer and got to experience the whole canadian sha-bang, now do not get to host a canadian student and lose out on the fun of showing of their amazing and totally unique country and culture. It makes me sad to see traditions die, hopefully Gloucester wont let this be the end, and will hopefully promote the excahnge a little bit more than they have been, cause honestly that trip is one of the most unique experiences in my life and it would suck if noone else got to experience it. |

| | Shakalabbits-手のヒラ宝石 | ] | yesterday was nice!
I went and saw Transamerica at the Bytowne with Brett! It was actually really good, Felicity definately deserved that Golden Globe, she seriously rocked the whole transexual thing. My heart went out for her a couple times, and there were quite a few transexuals in teh audience, there was actually one right next to me, and i could hear him/her crying at the sad parts, and i was so touched.
Afterwards we went and ate at Tuckers Market Place with Laura and Chris. Ottawa is too small, when you go out to dinner and you end up running into three people you know in the one restaurant. Laura and I ran into Jenna Krishnan, who we havent seen since grade 7, when she moved to Kanata. She looked awesome, it was so strange and nostalgic. I ran into Gayethri, a girl who I used to work with at the Superstore, and my friend Jess!!!
Today has been uneventful, i baked some delicious cookies. some is a little bit of an understatement, i have enough to feed a third world country. mmmmm but they are delicious, theyre butterscotch walnut chocolate chip, mmmmmmmmmmmm >_< my house smells delicious! |

| [ | All I feel is |
| | drained | ] | so today was weird.......
i went to my great grand mothers funeral in Quebec. It was awkward and sad, but mostly sad. It was my first funeral, I wasnt all that bothered by her death at first, but that changed ratehr fast. So she had been cremated and me and my cousin Nina, being the only two great grandchildren were designated to carry the urn holding her ashes into the church! This was awkward on the basis that my grandmother was very against me doing this, cause I am well known for being rather clumsy. Well I made it to teh end without dropping it (yay me), but I was hit with this random wave of emotion right as I put the urn down on a table next to a bunch of pictures of her. The rest of the service was just sad and upsetting, all I could think about was how Ii hardly knew her, and my clearest memories were of her being an old woman who was entertaining to me, due to her lack of any memory of me, and it kind of hit me like a brick wall. Now the awkward was my mom was there.....this may not sound awkward, but my parents divorce wasnt all sunshine and rainbows, it was more or less lightning and rainclouds. So it was kind of awkward to have her at a funeral for someones for my dad's side of the family. It wasnt all taht bad, the majority of my family was quite touched by her being there, but my step mom.....I kept catching her shooting dirty looks in my moms direction.
Other than that, I got home and went to Laura's and watched Chumscrubber. It was good werid, but good. I dont think I could actually describe it to you if I tried, but it was still good. |
